Melvin Herman Weber, 81, died peacefully on July 24, 2025 at his home. He was born July 17, 1944, in Kimball, MN to Marcus and Loretta (Schreifels) Weber. He graduated from Albany High School in 1963 and promptly enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was honorably discharged in 1968. Mel had two children, Wendy and Cindy, in a previous marriage and married Patricia Traum in 1981 where they made their home in Coon Rapids and later in Osseo, MN. With his marriage, he became dad to Brenda and Ted.
He worked for over 20 years at Lakeville Motor Express and retired in 1998. He founded Webb Pallet in 1984 and sold it in 1994. Upon the sale of his pallet company, he drove coach and school buses, and finally cars for Manheim auto auction where he retired in 2024.
Mel enjoyed traveling with his wife, Pat, driving, playing poker, listening to polka music, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Mel will always be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh. We couldn't have asked for a better man to have touched our lives.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Weber, his children, Wendy (Tom Linton) Weber, and Cindy (Marshal) Smith, Ted Traum, and son-in-law, Kevin Bixby. Six grandchildren Nicole (Scott) Heintz, Zachary Bixby, Kayla (Matthew) Huth, Breann Traum, Jonathan Linton and Madeline Smith; ten great-grandchildren, Aubrey Kent, Brody Kent, Bennett Bixby, Ellary Bixby, Harper Huth, Silas Huth, Corbin Lehman, Brynn Lehman, Penelope Martinez, and Adaline Martinez; five siblings, Roger (Millie) Weber, Sandra Schultz, Linda (Bill) Stelton, Tom (Lorraine) Weber, and Lloyd (Connie) Weber; and stepsister, Paulette Wieberdink; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Marvin Weber, LeRoy Weber, DuWayne Weber, and Sharon Vensland; and his daughter Brenda Bixby.
The Celebration of Life service will be 3:30-7pm, August 10, at the Osseo Community Center,415 Central Avenue, Osseo, MN, 55369. Burial will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, at a later date.
